The Wisconsin Association of School Councils originated at the University of Wisconsin – Madison in 1935 as the Wisconsin High School Student Council Association (WHSSCA).
The Wisconsin Association of School Councils is unique in structure, as it is run equally by elected students & advisors who are elected to terms at the annual State Conference. The duties and services of our elected officers and WASC Directors include: budget; publications; conferences/workshops; providing other services to the member schools.
The Wisconsin Association of School Councils is a non-profit organization dedicated to the development and continuation of leadership opportunities throughout the state of Wisconsin. The WASC is widely considered one of the strongest student leadership organizations in the country. In fact, we were the first state association, formed over 75 years ago.
The WASC knows that an important part of being a leader is to acknowledge and thank those who do great things in their schools and communities. We are proud to recognize individual and school achievement through numerous award programs. Details about these programs can be found below, including how you or your school can apply to receive these prestigious honors.
The WASC has some of the most incredible people in the world hoping to bring you the best experieces you expect from the leader of leaders in Wisconsin.
