Hello WASC!

My name is Sydney Grajkowski and I am the Region II JAM Vice President! I am from Stevens Point and I am in ninth grade at Ben Franklin Junior High. I am very involved at our school and I am in clubs and sports such as Girls golf, Ski club, Girls Soccer, National Junior Honors Society, Destination Imagination, and of course, Student Council!

In past years, our school’s student council has not been very involved in our school, but this year we are working hard to make sure we put on more events for our students! We recently did a Halloween activity night, it was a big success! We had a 3 on 3 basketball tournament that students could participate in, we had fun games all over our gym, we sold concessions, we had music/dancing in the cafeteria, but our biggest success of the night was our Haunted Hallway! For our Haunted Hallway we decorated one of our hallways as a haunted house, we had some of our members dressed up as Halloween characters and they stood in the hallway and scared people, the kids who attended really seemed to like it and some kids spent the entire night doing the haunted hallway over and over again! At our school we had about 150 kids in attendance. Our council had a lot of fun putting this event on and we made a lot of profit to spend on other events. I highly recommend this idea to councils who are looking for more events to put on for their schools!
