Meet Your JAM State President!

Christine HettingerNews Notes, WASC News Feed

Hello fellow WASC leaders!  My name is Marissa Vosberg and I am the Region V President along with being the JAM State President.  I would like to welcome you all to a new school year!  This fall I will be in eighth grade at Monroe Middle School in Monroe, WI located in south-central Wisconsin.  I am very excited and honored to be your state president along with representing Region V on the Governing Board.  Student Council has had an extremely positive effect on my life and I hope it does the same for all of you.  This year I really want to give back to the organization and the people who have given me so much.

Outside of student council, I am involved in soccer, softball and volleyball as well as being a junior ambassador for the Monroe Chamber of Commerce and Industry.        I am also very involved in the dairy industry where I own and show dairy cattle.  At school, I am involved in band and my district’s gifted and talented program.  I feel that each and every one of the activities I do has shaped me to become a better leader, not just for Region V, but for the entire state as well.

The WASC is an incredible organization and getting better each day thanks to leaders like yourselves!  This year I want to challenge each and every one of you to encourage more people to join this incredible organization and experience the magic it entails.

This year I am looking forward to all of the WASC events.  From fall summits to state conference, I can’t wait!  I encourage all of you to attend these events as your regional officers and host schools have worked tirelessly to create innovative new sectionals and find interesting keynote speakers.  These events are perfect places to meet new people and share new ideas from council to council to improve student leadership as a whole.  I look forward to seeing you at these events and hope you post about your experiences using #wascleader.  Also, check out what’s happening with WASC at either their website (WASC.org) or on Facebook, Instagram, or twitter (@WASCleader).

I am very thankful for being trusted in the role of JAM state president and I hope to accomplish amazing things this year!  If you ever see me at a conference or event please come up and talk to me with any ideas or any questions you may have.

Sincerely,

Marissa Vosberg
